La Duquesa is next to the old coastal town of Sabinillas, near to the inland town of Manilva and a few kilometres west of Estepona.
An area that has not been over developed, is still largely unspoiled and is a hidden gem on the coast boasting a fabulous marina amongst many other attractions to satisfy all age groups and interests.
The area of La Duquesa could be described as a sleeping giant. Whilst there are little major developments underway to speak of, investors are certainly expanding south of Estepona looking to capitalise on the next big thing, which La Duquesa could be prime for. Fantastic cafes, bars, shops and the beautiful port are starting to make La Duquesa a popular option for the location on the Costa Del Sol without the brashness perhaps associated with some of the nearby towns.
Many people come to Puerto de la Duquesa to play golf. The La Duquesa Golf and Country Club has an eighteen hole champion course as well as other sporting facilities including tennis and squash courts and a fully equipped gym. It is a fabulous course, one which I have played many times and one of my favourites in the area.
A popular attraction at nearby Manilva is the local Sunday market and can be found at the bottom of Manilva, just 10 minutes from La Duquesa, close to the roundabout were the Lidl supermarket is. Other must see or attractions include the Roman Baths, Castillo de la Duquesa an 18th Century fortress and for the thrill seekers in the family horse riding, tennis, sailing, scuba diving and kite surfing to all consider.
Heading to the Port in the evening is the thing to do and the area has cleverly selected the type of image it wishes to portray and offer a point of difference against the other resorts up and down the coast.
The overall location is also excellent and within easy reach either way up or down the coast, only 45 mins from Malaga Airport and only 25 minutes from Gibraltar why not take a look at the properties available in the area, whilst they last, could La Duquesa steal Puerto Banus’ crown as the place to be seen?
